Product Update (June 2026): Brand new iOS and Android apps
June 18, 2026
We rebuilt the Zappy iOS and Android apps from the ground up. They’re faster, easier to get around, and they finally have dark mode.
Rebuilt with native frameworks
The old apps were put together in FlutterFlow. The new ones are written natively for each platform, and you can feel it everywhere:
- Speed - the map and list load noticeably quicker
- Smoothness - scrolling and filtering respond right away instead of lagging a beat behind
- Platform fit - each app behaves the way apps on that platform are supposed to behave
Dark mode
Both apps now follow your phone’s appearance setting. If your device is in dark mode, Zappy is too. It turns out that looking up happy hours often happens in a dimly lit room, so this one was overdue.
A note on signing in
We dropped the “log in with Facebook” option in the rebuild. We’d rather not depend on Meta’s software any more than we have to. If Facebook is how you originally signed in, you can create a new account with your email address, Apple, or Google.
Everything matches now
The mobile apps share the look and the feature set of our rebuilt web app, so switching between your phone and your laptop no longer means learning two different versions of Zappy.
What’s Next
We’re reworking how we review and edit listing details, so happy hour data gets corrected and updated faster than it does today.
