The Austin happy hour guide

Eleven neighborhood guides and seven day-of-week guides, drawn from the 600+ bars and restaurants and 7,000+ food and drink deals Zappy tracks across Austin. Where to start in each part of town, and when it actually runs.

Or choose your day

Which night are you going out?

The weekdays run close together, then the weekend falls away — 600+ places on a Thursday against 200+ on a Saturday. One guide per day, with what's actually open.

What you get

Written, not scraped

Every guide is put together from what we track across all 600+ places — so the picks are informed by the data, and the claims in them are ones we can actually back up.

  • Where to start

A shortlist per neighborhood, each one chosen for a reason we can name — cheapest, longest, only one open Sundays — rather than a star rating.

  • When it actually runs

The shape of happy hour in that part of town: what time it tends to start, when it stops, and which places break the pattern.

  • Food and zero-proof, not just drinks

Food is the biggest category Zappy tracks. Every guide flags the places that discount food, and the ones that discount non-alcoholic drinks.

  • Hours that don’t go stale

Opening times are pulled from Zappy’s database when the page is built, never typed into the article — so a window that changes upstream changes here too.

How current is this?

Every listing tells you its own age

Each venue carries a "Checked" date — the month we last confirmed it against a menu, a website or a visit. Happy hour changes constantly: a bar drops a deal, moves its window, or quietly stops doing Mondays. An older date isn't a wrong listing, but it is a good reason to call ahead.

The page itself was generated in July 2026. The app is the live version: it knows what time it is, shows what's running right now, and gets corrections the day we make them. Here's how we collect the data.
